Wow! I can't believe it's been so long since I've sent an update! I do have a good excuse for part of the time I haven't written. We had a huge thunderstorm a while back that knocked out our internet connection, and it took a month to get it up and running again. I can't really account for the other three weeks that I didn't write though :)
Anyway, things are busier than ever here. Since the new year, there have already been 11 children adopted from TLC! We also already have 5 new babies and 4 new toddlers. Most of the new babies that have come to TLC this year are extremely tiny. For example the first baby of the year, a four month old girl named Atheny, weighed less than five pounds when she came to TLC last month. She has since gained a couple pounds, but she is still extremely tiny.
About two weekends ago, Liz and I along with two other volunteers had the opportunity to take four of the older toddlers for an overnight stay at a safari lodge. It was soooo much fun, and the kids loved it!!! There were zebras, giraffe, and several types of antelope that roamed the area freely. It was such a nice break from the usual nursery work, and it was so much fun to spend some one-on-one time with the kids. The evening we were there we got the kids all dressed up for dinner. They loved it, and had fun taking some cute photos.
I hope everyone enjoys these few photos I'm attaching! I will write more again soon!!
